What is the EGE Air Alliance?

The EGE Air Alliance is a regional public–private partnership dedicated to strengthening commercial air service at Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE). Its purpose is simple but essential: to ensure Eagle County remains accessible, competitive, and economically vibrant through reliable air service.

Why Air Service Matters

Eagle County’s economy is deeply connected to air access. Unlike major metro areas, our region depends on nonstop flights to connect visitors, residents, businesses, and workers to the rest of the country.

Strong and vibrant air service supports:

  • Tourism and hospitality, a major driver of local jobs and tax revenue
  • Local businesses, by improving access to customers, partners, and talent
  • Community access and convenience, especially in a high-cost, rural market

Why the EGE Air Alliance Exists

Airlines make route decisions based on risk, profitability, and long-term demand. Mountain and resort airports can face challenges such as:

  • Seasonal travel patterns
  • Weather and operational complexity
  • Smaller local populations

The EGE Air Alliance exists to help bridge that gap – reducing risk for airlines while demonstrating strong, unified local support for air service.

How the EGE Air Alliance Works

The Alliance operates as a public-private economic development collaborative, not a traditional marketing group.

What We Do

  • Partner directly with airlines to launch, maintain, and grow nonstop routes from key markets to EGE
  • Use data and market analysis to demonstrate demand
  • Provide targeted financial support when needed, to reduce startup risk
  • Track performance to ensure routes move toward long-term sustainability

How It’s Funded

The Alliance is supported through a collaborative funding model that includes:

  • Local governments
  • Core Transit (Minimum Revenue Guarantee support)
  • Business and community stakeholders

This shared approach reflects a shared benefit: when air service succeeds, the entire region benefits.

Accountability & Long-Term Focus

EGE Air Alliance investments are:

  • Performance-based, with clear expectations
  • Time-limited, designed to help routes stand on their own
  • Transparent, with ongoing monitoring and evaluation
