Format: Live Online Instruction & Self-Guided Content

Dates: Eight (2) Hour Sessions, Tuesdays & Thursdays (4pm – 6pm)

  • Week 1: April 5th & 7th
  • Week 2: April 12th & 14th
  • One week off for ECPS spring break
  • Week 3: April 26th & 28th
  • Week 4: May 3rd & 5th

Certificate/Credit:

  • A certificate of completion will be provided to each participant who completes the class
  • This course provides a strong foundation for the global standards, tools & techniques and vocabulary established by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Peak Business Management will offer a discount to those participants who wish to continue training to earn the full Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • For those who already hold a PMP or CAPM credential, this course provides 20 PDUs

Intended For: This course will include the foundational concepts of project management with a focus on the “built environment”. Anyone involved in the planning, design, construction and finishing of a construction, renovation or mitigation project will benefit greatly from this instruction. This includes, but is not limited to: general contractors, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, designers, architects, and skilled trade services.

The ideal participant is a mid-level contributor or leader who is often tasked with creating a new product, service, program, process, or outcome for your organization. You have selected this person because of their leadership and organizational skills. They may not currently hold the title of “Project Manager”. Nonetheless, they perform project-related tasks while facing the challenges of budget and schedule constraints and competing stakeholder needs.

 

Course Description: This course is a collaboration between an experienced instructor and student participants who are bringing real-life project scenarios as the subject matter. At the end of the course, participants will have developed the essential artifacts that equip and guide the project manager and team through the project lifecycle. Participants will learn the following concepts, tools, and techniques, that can be applied to current and future projects:

  • Introduction to Project Management
  • Stakeholder identification and engagement
  • Project scope and activities
  • Project schedule
  • Quality assurance and control
  • Resources and risk management
  • Project procurement
  • Project metrics & performance
  • Tools, techniques, and situations specific to construction-related projects

 

Learning Outcomes: Upon completing this course, participants will be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes in the context of construction-related projects:
