The mission of Vail Valley Economic Development is to promote the long-term economic health of Eagle County and solidify an economic base that is strong, diverse, and resilient—much like the spirit of the Vail Valley itself.

We do this in a variety of ways, none of which is more important than serving you – business owners and operators in the Vail Valley. If you’re looking to launch, relocate, or expand your business in the Vail Valley, VVED is your top resource. We’re here to bridge the gap between business and government and ensure that you’re connected with the resources that you need to succeed.

  • MyPartner Career Network: A Trailing Spouse Program offered to VVP members.
  • EGE Air Alliance: A program that works with airlines to maintain existing flights and secure new flights to/from Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE).

We define success differently here. Local, Regional and State Business Resources

Below is a list of organizations offering business resources to meet you where you are, whether you’re a seasoned business professional new to the area or are new to entrepreneurship altogether.

Local & Regional Resources:

  • Eagle River Valley Resource Directory: Published by Mountain Youth, this community guide provides a comprehensive directory of all major services to connect you to our community. A great resource for your employees and is available in both English Spanish.
  • Colorado Mountain College: Community college district with a local campus in Edwards. CMC is Colorado’s first officially designated dual mission institution offers a blend of certificate programs, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees.
  • Northwest Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC): The Northwest Colorado SBDC serves Eagle County (and the surrounding 10 counties) and is dedicated to developing new and existing entrepreneurs with business guidance at every stage.
  • Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Economic Development District (NWCCOG EDD): NWCCOG EDD provides details on resources for entrepreneurs including access to capital and business incentives.
    • Northwest Loan Fund: The Northwest Loan Fund offers business loans for start-up and expanding businesses that may not qualify for traditional financing.
  • Vail Valley Partnership: Regional chamber of commerce and economic development organization offering numerous business resources, marketing programs, educational events, and networking opportunities.
  • Vail Valley Works: A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, encompassing professional development, work-based learning, nonprofit resources, and mental wellness initiatives.

Statewide & National Resources:

  • Colorado Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC): Dedicated to helping small and mid-size businesses throughout Colorado achieve their goals by providing free and confidential consulting and low-cost training programs.
  • Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT): Promotes economic growth and long-term job creation by supporting small businesses and encouraging business expansion across the state. OEDIT offers resources to champion the industries that make Colorado unique, like the creative industries, outdoor recreation, and tourism.
  • U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA): Helps small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream. SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.
  • Colorado Chamber of Commerce: Champions a positive business climate in Colorado by monitoring regulations and lobbying for what’s best for Colorado businesses at the state and national levels.
