Program Description & Events

The Vail Valley Partnership’s Business Insight Series provides strategic insights for strengthening local businesses and developing leaders, fostering one’s professional and personal growth while contributing to the economic vitality of the region.

These programs are designed to develop and promote resources and education for the Valley’s small business owners and entrepreneurs and are designed to assist in the start-up, management, and growth of local businesses. Such resources include specialized training sessions as a means of providing business development, business management, and business growth information. Speakers from VVP member businesses address timely topics of interest to business leaders in the Vail Valley.

The BIS provides:

  • Timely insights from leading business and subject matter experts
  • Best practices provided by leaders in key industry sectors
  • Continuing education for professional development to enhance your personal leadership skills

Join the Vail Valley Partnership, Northwest Colorado Workforce Area, and Skillful for an interactive workshop to go over the current state of small businesses, the effects that the pandemic has made on them, and what business decisions you can make in efforts to retain employees while being as cost-effective as possible.
  • Engaging Your Customers in the “New Normal” (WEBINAR): May 7, 2020 – This presentation will cover important topics on how businesses can effectively engage their customers in today’s COVID-19 climate. We will discuss several strategies currently being used to manage the overall customer experience and keep customers visiting often and spending more. Presented by SpotOn.
  • What Does it Take To Be “Open for Business”? (WEBINAR): April 20, 2020 – As we enter a new phase of the world’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, businesses need to know how to reopen.   • COVID-19 Related Legislation & Its Impact on Employers & Employees (WEBINAR): April 23, 2020 – This presentation will focus on federal and state legislation enacted since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis.  We will specifically examine relief provided to employers and employees during these difficult times as well as an examination of what relief state and local governments can and cannot provide individuals at this time.   • Attract & Retain Great Talent:Skills-based Hiring and Employee Development: January 30, 2020 – Do you struggle filling open positions? Are experiencing high turnover rates on your staff? Vail Valley Partnership, Northwest Colorado Workforce Area, and Skillful present an interactive workshop to give you the tools and techniques to hire and retain successful employees.
  • Barriers for Working Families: Child Care’s Unintended Consequences on Business and Community: January 28, 2020
    Child care affects working parents, which in turn affects the business community. Attendees learned why this matters and how they can take steps forward in supporting local child care efforts in the Vail Valley.

  • “Working Minds” Suicide Prevention Training for the Workplace: November 6, 2019
    This session provided an overview in how to forum for dialogue and critical thinking about workplace mental health challenges. Presented by: SpeakUp ReachOut

    This event served as a Q&A session on the potential List 4 tariffs under review in Washington, DC.
