(EDWARDS, Colorado – Feb. 18, 2020) – Every year the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) hosts chambers of commerce of all sizes from across the western United States — ranging from Kansas and Texas to the west coast. WACE supports chambers by providing resources, education and utilizes their network of chamber leaders to elevate communities and businesses.
Vail Valley Partnership (VVP) attended the annual conference in Portland, Oregon for workshops, keynote speakers, shared learning through group discussions as well as an awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony, VVP was grateful to receive two program awards for “Best in Class” and a video award.

CareerWise, a modern youth apprenticeship program, had chosen Eagle County Partnership in 2017 to partner with Eagle County Schools, Vail Valley Partnership, Colorado Mountain College and YouthPower365. The program has grown to 16 apprenticeship opportunities. Vail Valley Partnership has become the connector for the business community to the education community. Eagle County has seen more success in Colorado over other regions and counties due to its concerted effort and collaboration with others. The WACE award recognized VVP for its efforts to alleviate workforce challenges by growing the young apprentices developing their growth and experience with on-the-job learning.
SmartBusiness Eagle County also received a program award “Best in Class”, making VVP the first chamber of commerce in WACE history to receive two separate program awards. SmartBusiness Eagle County is a project of Vail Valley Economic Development. Our region is blessed to be home to a number of high-quality resources that support businesses and entrepreneurs. But, it’s a complicated world, and it’s rare that business owners and entrepreneurs are familiar with all the resources available to them to support and grow their business ventures. The SmartBusiness Eagle County team reviews a new business’ information and connect them with the appropriate resources and individuals.
Finally, VVP took home a special merit video award. The video, “Here’s to You”, spotlights the Eagle County business community who are creating positive change, collaborating to achieve common goals and achieving great things through innovation. The video ends with how VVP works to support, unite and lead those initiatives.
Being recognized by WACE means that VVP’s efforts — and as a result, their members — are on the right track to addressing community challenges through chamber programming. There has been a lot of momentum created for the sake of strengthening Eagle County’s workforce and economic vitality.
