Vail Valley Partnership program designed to connect emerging community leaders

Vail Valley Partnership (VVP), the regional chamber of commerce, is happy to announce details for the 2018 NEXT Vail Valley emerging leader program.

NEXT Vail Valley is a program of the VVP designed to support and advance emerging professionals in our community. This program aims to serve professionals with a ‘mentee’ mindset who seek to learn from and be inspired by established community leaders in the Valley while connecting with other emerging professionals. Please apply for this program if you consider yourself as part of the NEXT generation of professional leaders in the Valley.

NEXT Vail Valley is an opportunity for 12 emerging professionals to meet, converse and engage with a community leader in a group setting. Two separate groups comprised of twelve different participants will be chosen for Session 2. Every month, each NEXT group will meet to reflect on the previous month’s meeting and to prepare for the upcoming meeting with the community leader. While meeting with the community leader, NEXT participants will have 2 hours to inquire and converse with the leader in a group setting about topics determined in the planning meeting. Each NEXT group will meet with a different community leader each month.

Community leader schedule is the following:

January 2018 –            Andy Daly, Former Vail Mayor, Former VR COO and CEO of Gore Peaks Investments.

February 2018 –          Mike Rushmore, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Our Community Foundation

March 2018 –              Linda Hill, Entrepreneur and President, Hill Aevium

April 2018 –                Pat Hammon, Eagle County Veteran Service Officer, Colorado Board of Veteran’s Affairs

May 2018 –                 Harry Frampton, Founder/Chairman East West Partners, principal Slifer Smith and Frampton, CO Business Hall of Fame

June 2018 –                 Father Brooks Keith, Rector, Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration

Prior program participants have gone on to increase their community involvement and grow their professional networks. “I recently put my hat in the ring for Minturn Town Council and ended up getting the open seat. I was thinking on it: I would have never thought to apply without the VVP’s NEXT group, so thank you!!” said Kristina Krone, former NEXT participant and current Minturn Town Council member.

If attendance is over 80% (10 out of 12 meetings), Vail Valley Partnership will donate $75 to VVP nonprofit member of their choice at completion of program. NEXT Vail Valley participants also receive complimentary tickets to all Vail Valley Business Forum events.

Interested participants must fill out the program application and submit to Erik Williams, erik@visitvailvalley.com by Dec 1, 2018. For additional details on the program please visit VailValleyPartnership.com
