Position: Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Manager serves as a full-time year-round staff member for The Cycle Effect located in one of our communities in Colorado. The Cycle Effect will consider a contract position for this role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead grant manager organization-wide, which includes: writing, tracking, reporting, and follow-up of all grants.
  • Management of the overall grant pipeline, strategy, and oversight of the process.
  • Develop grant template.
  • Study and understand the history, structure, programs, goals and financial needs of the organization.
  • Research, present and apply to new grant opportunities.
  • Oversee revenue goal and strategy for raising an annual minimum of $365,000 in grants.
  • Maintain and Update Colorado Gives Day profile(s)
  • Maintain and develop relationships directly with foundations and grantees.
  • Present to foundations and funders, when applicable.
  • Communication/liaison between programs and development for grant strategy and assuring grant verbiage and proposals accurately reflect program and organizational goals.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate as an active member of the development/marketing team and attend staff meetings and program meetings, when applicable
  • Assist with other department functions (ie: program practices, administrative tasks, inventory) on an as needed basis
  • Special projects when needed and as assigned  

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • High level of critical thinking skills and creativity
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and engage a wide range of supporters and donors to build long-term relationships
  • Exceptional computer skills with Google (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive, Forms, Admin, AdGrants, etc)
  • Compassionate, dependable, team player
  • Highly organized with a professional demeanor
  • High energy and passion for The Cycle Effect mission
  • Ability to build relationships with various types of people (participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, board members, etc.)
  • Willingness to do whatever is needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of experience with demonstrated success in a grant writing role
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven track record of managing grant process and pipeline
  • Experience in a nonprofit organization preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License & clean driving record
  • Preferably resides in Eagle, Routt, Summit or Mesa County
  • Spanish language skills a bonus
  • Must be flexible to work occasional night/weekend events and willingness to travel
  • Must pass a background check

Physical Requirements:

The position is primarily conducted in an office environment. The employee will frequently make use of peripheral vision, seeing up close, and adjusting and focusing vision. The employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, push, pull and reach using arms and hands. Additionally, while working at an event, the employee may be required to lift up to 50lbs.

  •   Salary range: $50,000-$55,000
