Vilar PAC – STARS: Piano Battle

The STARS (Support The Arts Reaching Students) series of performances is offered to promote artistic, educational and cultural enrichment to local students with daytime shows at the theatre. Each year, the Vail Valley Foundation and Vilar Performing Arts Center provide free tickets to more than 6,000 Eagle County students to bring them the thrill of live performing arts.

The black and the white are ready to fight. Two piano champions on stage; one in black, the other in white. They perform, compete, and shine; the concert hall packed full of people, applauding, clapping, and raising their hands …Welcome to the PIANO BATTLE!!

BATTLE tears down the fourth wall between the stage and the crowd, letting the students become part of the battle, giving them the opportunity to really engage in classical music. As with all our shows, it is in their hands who will be the first to cross the finish line! They will be given the opportunity to form opinions on the different pieces and the various ways in which we present them. Those opinions will be shared during the voting proceedure and also discussed during the Q&A session.
