The social unrest that roiled many American cities in 2020 was largely absent from our community; however, no area of the country escaped the pandemic unscathed. All areas of life in the valley were affected and in addition to illness and death, some businesses closed for good. Business was anything but usual with new practices and procedures rolled out to accommodate health and safety requirements.

Although the summer of 2021 saw a rebound–with many reporting that it was the busiest many in the valley can ever remember–is this tempo sustainable? Are large crowds and robust business the new normal? How has the valley weathered one of the most tumultuous years in recent history? And will we have the workforce to handle increasingly more visitors?

Leaders from business, government, education, and healthcare join Vail Symposium and Vail Valley Partnership for a discussion of the state of our valley. Join Vail Health CEO Will Cook, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Vail Mountain Beth Howard, Eagle County Manager Jeff Schroll, and Eagle Schools Superintendent Phil Qualman for a discussion on the state of our valley. Chris Romer, president and CEO of the Vail Valley Partnership, will moderate.
