School’s Out Camp: STEM – Staying Alive!

Vail Valley Medical Center Gypsum Urgent Care

Join us for a day of learning and fun as we go behind the scenes of Vail Valley Medical Center’s Gypsum Urgent Care to explore the technology and tools that medical professionals use as they work to save lives! We will spend the afternoon at Walking Mountains Science Center exploring the connection between STEM and winter survival skills as they relate to staying safe and warm in outdoor winter environments. We are proud to partner with Vail Valley Medical Center to make this day possible.

Grade Level: 6th-8th grade students
Drop off location and Time: Walking Mountains Science Center at 8:00 am or Eagle Valley Middle School at 8:45 am
Pick up Location and Time: Walking Mountains Science Center between 3:00 and 3:30 pm or Eagle Valley Middle School between 3:30 and 4:00 pm
Cost: $35/student with scholarships available

Walking Mountains will transport students from the drop off locations to the Gypsum Care Urgent Care in a 15-Passenger van. After the tour, we will head back to Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon for the afternoon. Students should bring lunch, water, and clothes to go outside in the snow. They will need a hat, waterproof gloves, snow pants, winter jacket, snow boots, and warm layers in a backpack.
