What’s Your Nonprofit’s Strategy?

There is no better time than right now to re-visit your nonprofit’s strategy and strategic direction. Whether you have a blueprint already established or are just beginning the process to re-evaluate the past year and plan for the future, the expert panelists will give you tactics and tips to help you determine what you need to do and important considerations. They will also give you ideas on what to avoid in your planning.

Chris Romer – Vail Valley Partnership, President & CEO
Chris Romer serves as President & CEO of Vail Valley Partnership, the regional chamber of commerce. His community involvement includes board service with the Western Association of Chamber Executives, Colorado Mountain College, Tourism Industry Association of Colorado, Eagle Valley Community Foundation, Vail Valley Foundation, and other groups. He has facilitated strategic planning sessions and board retreats for chambers of commerce, towns, special districts, and nonprofits throughout Colorado and the western US. He has been named “Chamber Executive of the Year” by the Association of Colorado Chambers of Commerce and a “Top 25 Mind in Hospitality Sales & Marketing” by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.


Barb Waters – Peak Business Management, Project Management Expert
Barb Waters has more than 20 years of experience managing projects and implementing process improvements for Fortune 500 companies. Barb worked with the first U.S. company to win the coveted Deming Prize for Total Quality Management. She uses these guiding principles when leading organizations to achieve data-driven process improvement in their projects and operations. She employs strong data analysis concepts and techniques, and provides her clients with sustainable best practices.

She has been involved in the creation of contact centers for two state agencies, to support their digital transformation.

She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®. As the owner of Peak Business Management, Barb provides training, guidance, and insight to organizations who are navigating the rapidly changing landscape of project management.

Barb lives in Edwards, Colorado, USA with her husband Eric. She enjoys skiing and snowboarding, SCUBA diving, hiking, and community involvement.

Charles C. Weathers, Sr. – The Weathers Group, Founder
Charles Weathers is founder of The Weathers Group, a management consulting firm specializing in organizational performance and leadership development for nonprofits and for-profit organizations.

In his mission to positively impact lives, Weathers has made headlines by lending his voice to disruptive companies in the nonprofit, government and private sectors.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Charles enjoys volunteering with numerous organizations and is a proud board member of Goodwill Industries of the Upstate/Midlands of SC.  A trusted advisor and coach, he and his family reside in Columbia, South Carolina.

Robin Thompson will serve as moderator for this month’s discussion.
