Join the Vail Public Library for a month long celebration of Jane Austen’s “Emma.” We are continuing our annual tradition, offering a month of Austen each November. This year, we’ll ponder “Emma,” Austen’s novel about youthful arrogance and the perils of misdirected romance.
Wed., Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. Book Discussion
We will host a lively book discussion on this much-loved novel by Jane Austen. Copies of the book are available for check-out at the library.
Wed., Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Lecture with Ursula Gross, M.A.
Ursula Gross received her M.A. in English from Georgetown University and wrote her thesis about how Jane Austen is read and interpreted today.
Mon., Nov. 21 at 5:00 p.m. Movie Showing
We will feature the 1996 version of “Emma” starring Gwyneth Paltrow as Emma Woodhouse
