Come learn and explore the world of Buddhism with Shambhala Publications, a small press based in Boulder which has been the leading publisher of books on Eastern religion in the US for the last 50 years.  Staff members from Shambhala will walk you through how Buddhism came to the West, a history of their press, and give an overview of how Buddhism is practiced today.  They’ll introduce you to some of their classics works and answer any question this fascinating wisdom tradition.  The event is for all ages and for anyone interested unlocking information on the religion practiced by an estimated 500 million people worldwide.

Nikko Odiseos first encountered Buddhism in college, which included study in Bodhgaya, India, one of the main pilgrimage sites for Buddhists around the world.   He has been the President of Shambhala Publications since 2010 and has overseen a renewed focus publishing Buddhist books from across its many traditions.

Sara Bercholz is a mama, cook/baker/eater, meditator, failed knitter, traveller, aspiring gardener, yogi, and outdoorswoman. A love of books is in her blood—she is the co-owner (along with her brother, mother, and father) of Shambhala Publications, the company her father and mentor, Samuel Bercholz, founded in 1969. Sara started Roost Books, an imprint of Shambhala Publications focused on creative living, in 2012. She lives with her husband and two sons in Boulder, CO.

KJ Grow joined Shambhala Publications as Sales & Marketing Director concurrent with their move to Boulder in 2015.  She formerly worked in New York City for publishing houses including Simon & Schuster and Penguin Random House.
