Become a Gatekeeper at Cup of Hope! Following this suicide prevention class we will plant bulbs at the Salvation Army garden.
WHERE: Greenhouse at the Vail Valley Salvation Army.
WHAT: Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR), an award-winning, evidenced based, early-intervention approach to suicide prevention. This educational program is designed to teach lay and “gatekeepers” the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. We will cover the background of QPR, go over local data and teach the three main components of the program. We will also have a Q and A period at the end and be happy to stay after the training to talk with any individuals.
Following the training, participants can stay and help plant bulbs in the Salvation Army garden.
WHO: This event is for adults, parents, co-workers, friends, neighbors and youth ages 16 and up.
There is a 12 person limit inside the greenhouse with social distancing.
WHY: Suicide prevention is for everyone. We can all learn to save lives through this training. Data proves that this training works and can make a difference in someone’s life.

SpeakUp ReachOut is proud and excited to partner with the Vail Valley Salvation Army to provide this mental health training and community service opportunity.
