Community Conversation – Panel and Workshop
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Eagle Public Library
Gracefully written, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande, opens a door to a community conversation of a subject that all too often engenders only fear and denial. Gather with friends, neighbors and medical professionals in a conversation about an inescapable reality of life and learn how to have these conversations prior to a medical crisis. Watch the film or read the book. Join the discussions and let our local experts help you develop your personal action plan for the future. Learn more at evld.org/community-conversation
Panel Discussion and Workshop
Engage in a dialogue about advance care planning and sharing with loved ones and physicians what matters most. Learn how to take concrete steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences. Following the discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to be proactive about end-of-life situations by participating in a workshop with local experts. This workshop will assist attendees with planning and creating advance healthcare directives for themselves and their families. Join the conversation and explore what matters to you.
At the Eagle Public Library on Tuesday, February 21 @ 5:30pm
Community Conversation programs are in partnership with the Eagle Valley Library District, Eagle County Public Health, Alpine Area Agency on Aging, HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley along with a certified member of the Grief Recovery Method.
