Her story: Kailyn Forsberg entered this world just over 15 years ago with a drive to perform and a passion to compete. On April 7, 2015 Kailyn Forsberg dared greatly. She was exercising her competitive spirit in pursuit of a USASA National Freeskiing Championship at Copper Mountain. After placing 2nd nationally in two disciplines in the preceding days, on April 7th Kailyn unfortunately experienced a traumatic crash on the slopestyle course. The injuries were significant, including a broken pelvis, dislocated hip, and most concerning a fracture of her C-7 vertebrae impacting the spinal cord. Kailyn was immediately air lifted to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She underwent extensive surgery. Kailyn currently has no motor movement and minimal feeling from the chest down.
