Learn the art of book sculpture, and design your own freestanding or hanging  sculptural piece using a book that will be provided for you. Lauren Merrill from Alpine Arts Center will demonstrate a variety of book sculpture techniques including paper folding, curling, and twisting to make beautiful works of art. All you need is your imagination and creativity, and there will be stencils and other tools to assist you along the way, as well as guided instruction. You are welcome to bring your own book if you have a favorite in mind to use for the project. Your sculpture may be finished during the workshop, or continued afterwards for intricate pieces, and then returned to The Bookworm for display this holiday season.
