Founded in 2012, Malpaso has quickly become one of the most high-profile companies on the international scene. This exhilarating Cuban contemporary dance company makes its Vail Dance Festival debut this season with a performance at the Vilar Performing Arts Center, featuring works created especially for the young troupe by Ronald K. Brown and Sonja Tayeh.

Toots has had 31 #1 hits in Jamaica; which is a Guinness book of world records by an artist to have that many #1’s in a country! During this performance he will be playing all his hits with a 6-piece band and 2 backup singers.  In 2018 Toots & The Maytals played NOLA Jazz Fest, LOCKN, Newport Folk Fest, sunfest and more.Toots is one of the true architects of reggae – so much so that “Do the Reggay,” a 1968 single by Toots and his group, the Maytals, is credited with giving the genre its name. Classic songs written and recorded by Toots and the Maytals have been covered by the likes of the Clash and the Specials, and the group was featured in reggae’s greatest breakthrough event – “The Harder They Come,” the 1972 film that became an international sensation.

Former member of Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers – with a voice that’s instantly recognizable, Michael McDonald’s career has endured through the changing face of pop music. Fans are just as enamored with classics such as “What a Fool Believes” and “I Keep Forgettin’” today as they were when the songs were first released. McDonald continues to stay hip and attract new fans, like by performing with Thundercat at the Coachella music festival in 2016.
