  • Slifer Designs: Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday has become a bit of a phenomenon around the country, and especially here in the Vail Valley, where we are fortunate to have hundreds of amazing small businesses. Slifer Designs is one such small business, thrilled to be part of the retail landscape in Eagle County… a place where many of us would rather be outside exploring than inside on Black Friday. Enter Small Business Saturday.

Spend a couple of hours on the fresh powder then hit local shops, where the staff knows your name, understands what you are looking for and loves to spend time finding just the right object of affection.

Slifer Designs’ Showroom in Edwards cannot wait to be a part of Small Business Saturday again this year. It’s a reason to celebrate and a way to kick off the holiday shopping festivities. The buying team has traveled thousands of miles this summer, finding unique, interesting and fabulous goods for the home and body.
“Small Business Saturday is a fun way to start ticking items off your shopping list. We’ve culled a list of imaginative gifts,” says Lisa Mikels, Showroom manager. “We love this time of year because so many of our clients come back into town, and we get to catch up with them while they’re perusing the store.”
So, just what can you expect to see on November 28, otherwise known as Small Business Saturday? Remember, the buying team has been busy so it’s hard to pick just a few!
We are loving cute, fashionable necklaces made for layering. They are perfect to add a little sparkle and bling to a holiday outfit – layer love with a silver bar and add on an arrow for fun. If color is more what you’re looking for, the turquoise-beaded necklaces, in 17.5-inch lengths, pop.
This time of year there’s a lot to celebrate – bubbly comes out frequently. How sharp are you after a few glasses? The Champagne Quiz is a hysterical trivia game to play to see just how smart you are after a few celebratory glasses. Pair with Alice Waters cookbook and a wine keeper (remember, you don’t have to drink it all in one sitting).
Always popular for the hostess: Mariposa napkin box and weight, cheeseboard and bottle opener. It’s simple but so fun to receive!
Come in, the team are experts in home design, gifts and accessories. Oh – and enjoy a cupcake and a glass of punch while you shop. You can’t get that kind of service from an online retailer.
