A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER THE VILAR PERFORMING ARTS CENTER PRESENTS CAMELOT

The Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) presents Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot on Monday, March 16 at 7:30 PM. Camelot reimagines the classic tale of King Arthur and his Knights, Lady Guinevere and Sir Lancelot. The Arthurian Legend is clean and shiny, full of betrayal, seduction and acts of evil. This performance will also feature local Vail Valley resident, 7th grader Ethan Pyke in a special walk on role. Tickets to Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot start at $78 and are on sale now at the VPAC Box Office (970.845.8497/www.vilarpac.org). The VPAC is located under the ice rink in Beaver Creek Village (68 Avondale Lane, Beaver Creek, Colorado).

Broadway’s sweeping tale of passion, pageantry and betrayal is the winner of 4 Tony Awards®, 3 Academy Awards® and has never been more enthralling than in this new production. Intimate and fresh, Camelot’s celebrated score includes the classics “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “The Simple Joys of Maidenhood,” and the title song, “Camelot.”

This Camelot focuses its lens on the characters, not the wide-angle of grandiosity. This production keeps its eye on the story, allowing the setting to be more abstract in its environments with dramatically bold lighting.

The CAMELOT tour for North America is produced by Phoenix Entertainment by special arrangement with Tams – Witmark Music Library, Inc. www.phoenix-ent.com or www.tamswitmark.com.
