C BAR REMEMBERS LECH ZÜRS TEAM HEADQUARTERS

Thanks to our Austrian friends the 2015 World Ski Championships will live on at C BAR!

Beaver Creek, Colorado – It is with great fondness that we look back and remember the last fifteen days in Beaver Creek and Vail. Thanks to our friends from Beaver Creek’s sister ski resort at C BAR we will have memories of abundant food, music and athlete stardom to last a lifetime. The races have also brought some exciting changes which will be kept alive in the restaurant for some time to come.

During the FIS 2015 World Ski Championships Beaver Creek’s C BAR, located slopeside adjacent to the Beaver Creek Chophouse, was the setting of the “Arlberg Lounge,” a modern dining lounge with traditional Austrian alpine décor. Throughout the two weeks Arlberg Lounge in the C BAR served as Lech Zürs am Arlberg‘s meeting point for athletes, officials, media, business and friends. Each day the lounge featured cuisine customary to the Lech Zürs and Vorarlberg regions including decadent cheeses, meats, seasonal wines, draft beer and a wide assortment of spirits.

Although the slopeside restaurant was a private lounge throughout the championships, C BAR guests can now experience a bit of Arlberg Lounge themselves as it has reopen to the public with many of the Arlberg items remaining. C BAR is now open daily 11am-10pm and has kept much of the Austrian décor and traditions brought to us by our friends during the races. C BAR now features a new Austrian chalet wooden bar design as well as some staple cocktails including a 2015 Arlberg Lounge specialty cocktail, with hot cocoa and green Chartruse. Best of all, for a limited time C BAR will be featuring an Arlberg Lounge meat platter, a decadent assortment of the finest meats and cheeses Austria has to offer. The platter is served throughout lunch and dinner service for $18.

Pia Herbst, from the Tourism for Lech Zürs organization wrote of the Beaver Creek, C BAR and Lech Zürs partnership “Lech Zürs am Arlberg has been fostering an intensive community partnership with the fashionable venue of the American World Ski Championships for the past 13 years, crowning the friendly relationship by being present during what is certainly the most important sporting event this winter.” She also noted that by hosting the Lounge in Beaver Creek it further demonstrates the close resort relationship is very much real and that both sides look forward to furthering the relationship well into the future. This partnership might come even more into play during a future World Ski Championships as the Lech Zürs am Arlberg and St. Anton Austrian ski areas plan to apply to host the competitions in 2021.

The fifteen day long Arlberg Lounge included many key players from abroad and local to the Vail Valley. Countless current and past skiers were invited to come celebrate with the generous hosts including those from Austria, Switzerland, America and many more! Furthermore, the collective hosts – Vorarlberg Tourism, the Arlberg Ski Club, Lech Zürs Tourism and Beaver Creek Resort Company were on-site with Austrian local celebrities, such as Olympic champion Patrick Ortlieb. Overall, the 2015 races and Arlberg Lounge were truly a magical experience for both visitors and locals alike where traditions, drinks and celebrations were overflowing. C BAR was lucky enough to have played such an integral role and look forward to keeping many of the Arlberg Lounge highlights alive for public visitors long after the races have left town.
