Peak Wellness Retreat (PWR Vail) launches August 23 with an exciting weekend of health and fitness focused events. PWR Vail is a new high-end destination wellness retreat that couples a comprehensive medical exam with advanced metabolic profiling to provide medically guided fitness and nutrition programs for destination travelers, locals, and seasonal residents. Focused on achieving short term health goals and acquiring the tools for lifelong healthy living, PWR Vail programs incorporate moderate and high intensity training combined with mountain activities, nutritious dining experiences, rejuvenating spa treatments, and comprehensive lifestyle planning during five and ten-day retreats.
PWR Vail has partnered with Vail Valley Medical Center and their renowned physicians Dr. Larry Gaul and Dr. Dennis Lipton to provide medical guidance for retreat guests. Additionally, Howard Head Sports Medicine provides a physical therapy exam to every guest to ensure that both on-site and at-home fitness training is effective and in consideration of any injuries. PWR Medical Director Larry Gaul states “the evidence based medical component is what I believe sets PWR Vail apart. The PWR team has done a great job of bringing together practitioners from different fields to formulate an effective program that takes into account any existing medical concerns. In 5 or 10 days, PWR guests can have their individual metabolism evaluated, get both screening and personally appropriate blood work, receive medical advice and direction from Dr. Lipton and myself, see a physical therapist for structural and injury prevention guidance, learn their new fitness protocol, and go home with a simple, applicable program. I look forward to seeing how this offering helps define ‘wellness’ in the Vail Valley and elsewhere and hope it can become a model for others.”
Whether weight loss, improved nutrition, improved strength, stamina or speed is the goal, PWR creates a customized program tailored to each individual so that they will not go home without making a change and developing a plan for sustainability. “Through partnerships with top experts in each of their fields, we have built what we believe is an amazing, life altering experience. We are honored to be working with an incredible team and grateful to live our passion of helping others live at their peak through science, fitness, and adventure” says Gaby Milhoan, CEO and co-founder of PWR. Recent guest Trista Sutter shares the following about her experience at a PWR Vail retreat “I had the chance to participate in Peak Wellness Retreat’s Signature Experience in May. The science behind the metabolic testing is top notch. I really enjoyed hiking and connecting with nature with Ellen Miller and the outdoor bootcamp with the Peak trainers. The Signature Experience is a great comprehensive program for anyone wanting to get healthier and have fun.”
PWR Vail’s fitness headquarters are at Vail Vitality Center, known for their team of master trainers that help clients accomplish major training breakthroughs, with safety and progression constantly in mind. “The great thing about PWR Vail’s model is it creates flexibility for the guest to build the custom experience that they want, while creating a platform for any health focused business in Vail to get involved in the program. The PWR team has done a great job of aggregating wellness resources to offer guests the best of the Valley in a simple, all-inclusive program,” Jeff Morgan, Director of the Vail Vitality Center.
PWR Vail retreat guests can choose to stay at PWR preferred partners Vail Mountain Lodge and the Four Seasons, at any lodging property of their preference, or their personal residence. “What sets us apart from other retreats around the country is we offer high altitude training in an iconic location with a world-class team that takes a medically based approach to help people get healthier. During their stay clients implement a simple and effective whole foods nutrition program with a personalized fitness plan, and go home connected to our team, to ensure continuity at home.” adds Lauren Arnold, PWR’s COO and co-founder.
