Introduction to CareerPlus RAPs

What is a RAP?  RAP stands for Registered Apprenticeship Program. This is a formal training model that has been approved and validated by either the U.S. Department of Labor or a state apprenticeship agency.  It’s a 2-year, hands-on learning experience where you get trained and paid for doing meaningful work for a company.  A RAP prepares you for a high-demand career and paves the way to career advancement.

Why Choose a Registered Apprenticeship?

  • Get Paid to Learn – No debt, no waiting. You earn a paycheck while gaining skills. Apprentices are paid employees from day one and receive scheduled wage increases as they progress in their skills and knowledge.
  • Real-World Experience – Learn on the job with mentors who know the industry. Apprentices gain hands-on, practical experience in a structured environment while being mentored by experienced professionals.
  • Career Credentials – Graduate with a nationally recognized certificate that proves you’re job-ready anywhere. Upon completing the program, an apprentice earns a portable, nationally recognized credential that signifies they have mastered the skills of their trade.
  • In-Demand Careers – From healthcare and IT to construction and business, apprenticeships open doors to high-growth fields.
  • Future Growth – Most apprentices get hired full-time and earn higher wages right away.
  • Your Path, Your Future – Build a career, not just a job, and set yourself up for long-term success.
