Tapping more than 30 years of combined international banking, finance, marketing and luxury residential expertise, Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty recently added to new Broker Associates, Kent Petersmeyer and Mary Pope.

Kent Petersmeyer

With more than 20 years of luxury residential real estate experience including serving as Chief Marketing Officer for one of the top private golf communities in North America, Scottsdale-based Desert Mountain, Kent Petersmeyer brings a multi-faceted background to Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty. From driving qualified traffic to the Desert Mountain sales team enabling a record $180M in sales in one calendar year to joining the start-up team that created the Promontory private vacation home community in Park City, Utah, Petersmeyer brings knowledge, experience and business acumen to the firm and its clients. On the technology side, he also did a 10-year stint in the personal computer industry working for a large value added reseller providing hardware, software and onsite services to Fortune 500 accounts. He had extensive interaction with such prominent OEM’s as Microsoft, Apple, IBM and Hewlett-Packard when the PC industry was in its infancy.

A 10+ year Vail Valley vacationer, Petersmeyer decided to relocate here from Seattle with his wife, Shirley, in early 2014 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. His combined passion for work and play includes a variety of outdoor pursuits, including golf, tennis, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking and backpacking.

Mary Pope

Bringing a 10+ year background in international banking, including positions with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Chicago and San Francisco, Mary Pope is well versed in investment and cash management, as well as credit analysis and client advisement, an ideal fit for Vail Valley’s home and investment real estate buyers and sellers.

Complementing her strong finance background, Pope also taps an extensive international travel history that included attending the London School of Economics where she earned a Master of Science, along with living and working in Galway, Ireland and Brussels, Belgium, where she addressed policy issues affecting the banking industry within the European Union. In addition to her Master of Science, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Montana in Missoula and an MBA with a focus on finance and marketing from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

A certified yoga instructor, Pope also enjoys hiking, skiing and snowboarding as well as running, including half to full marathons. She relocated to the Vail Valley in 2013 to join her then fiancé, C.R. Russell, prior to their marriage in July 2014.

“The addition of Kent and Mary to our broker associate team and their combined expertise in marketing, sales and finance both domestically and abroad provides an invaluable knowledge and experience base to both our clients and our company,” said Tye Stockton, Co-Founder and partner of Ascent Sotheby’s International Realty. “We are fortunate they both made the decision to relocate to Colorado and pursue their real estate interests with Ascent SIR,” Stockton added.
