  • Group970 Receives 2013 Business of the Year Award

It was with sincere gratitude that the Group970 Restaurants team accepted the award for Business of the Year from the Vail Valley Partnership during their 11th Annual Success Awards this past Friday. Group970 was particularly honored that the award came from such an esteemed, valley wide, community driven organization and selection committee. Sarah Franke, Group970 Communications Manager, stated “being selected to receive this award by other community members as well as knowing how many other qualified and outstanding nominees there were this year gave the award a special significance. There is nothing more fulfilling to our group than accepting an honor from our local associates.”

While on stage during the ceremony Franke joked that the award had come after many free drinks and meals but in all sincerity the award is due to the numerous long time employee’s hard work and collaboration over the past year in conjunction with the Vail Valley community. Group970 Restaurants thanked the local community for their continued support and wanted to recognize everyone on the Group970 team for their dedication and enthusiasm during 2013. Company owner, Brian Nolan, noted that “the distinction of Business of the Year is not due without thanks to our continued support from the local community, vendors and business partners, without them we couldn’t operate on the levels we do.”

With a company mantra of Food. Drink. Adventure. Group970 Controller, Kim Anderson, said it best when reflecting on the award and past year, “the thing I enjoyed most about working at Group970 over the past year was the people I worked with. Our team is exceptional – extremely smart and motivated and most importantly FUN!” From the administration team to the servers to the back of house, at each restaurant location, the 970 team is challenged to live the mantra and have been doing so for almost twenty five years here in the Vail Valley.

Looking forward to next year, Group970 hopes to take steps towards possible company expansion and enrichment, while continuing to be very engaged with Vail Valley residents. A potential goal during 2014 for Group970? To win another Vail Valley Partnership Success Award, possibly “Most Uniquely Vail Valley” or “Best Place to Work,” an award new to the event this year. Moreover, it was with great privilege that Group970 accepted the award on Friday and they look forward to 2014 in hopes of continuing to serve this terrific local community.
