Manor Vail Lodge is one of Vail’s original and iconic properties. The Sr. Sales Manager increases property revenue by assisting in the development and implementation of solicitation programs in line with the property’s financial objectives and targets.
-Earns between $70,000-$80,000 plus Sales Incentive

What you will have an opportunity to do:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implement a strategic and comprehensive direct sales effort, including tangible efforts in prospecting, sales calls, entertainment, and site inspections to maximize group rooms, food, beverage and ancillary sales revenue production goals.
Aggressively solicit and follow up on leads generated. Follow up on group business (pending, tentative and booked) to ensure client satisfaction and materialization at the property.
Effectively map and maintain all new and existing accounts and devote appropriate account management effort based on their quality ratings and potential: top, target, good and marginal.
Conducts creative site tours of property for potential clients, including meeting planners, travel agents and staff from local reservation referral outlets.
Organizes and accurately maintains digital files for prospect, tentative and definite group business including all contact information, contract details, event and service details. Ensure these details are effectively communicated cross-departmentally in order to ensure service success.
Ensure financial success and properly managed expectations of group and property by negotiating sound group booking contracts and agreements and managing exposure to risks for the hotel with these agreements.
Qualifies business according to department guidelines and presents business opportunities in daily sales business review.
Provide weekly sales activity reports for inbound and outbound efforts, as well as recaps of work productivity.
Actively participate in trade organizations and community groups that benefit the sales efforts of Manor Vail. For this position, this includes but is not limited to Vail Valley Partnership, Destination Colorado, MIC, MPI and CASE.
Maintain Manor Vail’s listings on directory-based resources such as CVENT and ensure the content is regularly updated and refreshed.
Regularly implement creative offerings such as packages, menu ideas, and offerings to attract new business to the property with unique sales efforts and presentation.
Attend and participate in the weekly Manager’s Meetings as well as bi-weekly Revenue Strategy meetings.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of the competition’s product.
Joins and actively participates in organizations that benefit the sales efforts.
Stays up to date on various activities, dining options and transportation services.
Ensure financial success and profitability of property by negotiating sound group booking contracts and agreements and managing exposure to risks for the hotel with these agreements.
Work with F&B Team (Chef & Dir of F&B), Events/Catering Team, Revenue Management and Leisure teams on a regular basis and integrate group sales with their direct sales and revenue management efforts.
Meet with direct supervisor monthly to chart progress, adjust/adapt to market changes and shift strategies as deemed necessary.
Understand room types, rates and codes.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Ivvy or Delphi, SMS

What are we looking for?
2-3 years’ experience in a Sales Manager role for a Hotel or Resort
Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent (Communication/Marketing/Advertising preferred)
SalesForce (Ivvy) experience preferred
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with the public as well as other team members.
Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.
Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.
Someone with the availability to work when the events are happening, i.e. weekends, nights and holidays
