The First Annual, Vail Automotive Classic Live Auto Auction & Silent Auction is set to take place on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Vail Valley Jet Center in Hangar #1. Proceeds from the car auction will benefit both Jack’s Place at Shaw Regional Cancer Center and Eagle Valley Senior Health. A 1995, non-reserve Jaguar brings star power to the event and was donated specifically to benefit Jack’s Place. The event is open to the public and begins with the car preview and silent auction at 4:00 p.m. and the actual auction starting at 7:00 p.m. The Evening includes BBQ + soda for $20, cash bar, and live music from Valley’s own Hardscrabble Band.

“As the former Publisher of Car and Driver and Road & Track Magazines, I know my cars, and car events. This is not one to be missed!” says Ed Abramson, Chairman of the Vail Automotive Classic “We’ve been amazed at the number of great cars donated for this event!”

Approximately 10 other cars, at both reserve and non-reserve prices, have been hand selected from various car collectors and automobile enthusiast around the country for Vail Automotive Classic’s auto auction. So far, other power-packed entries for the auction include: 1978 Porsche, 1955 Chevy Pick-Up, and 1969 Dodge Charger – 100% full rotisserie restored. R/T S/E 440 Magnum, 4-speed, Dana car.

The Friday night event is just the first of several Car, Aircraft and Motorcycle celebrations throughout this power-filled weekend! The Vail Automotive Classic is also hosting their Third Annual, Wheels & Wings Show on Saturday, September 8 at the Vail Valley Jet Center in Hangar #3, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Wheels & Wings Show is an open expo of cars, airplanes, helicopters and motorcycles and brings in crowds of over 3,500 people. This year, current registrants include a Bugatti Veyron which retails at over $2 million and our airplanes include a T-6, Pitts aircraft, a Kitfox, and a Sea Fury.

The weekend concludes on Sunday, September 9th with the Third Annual Vail Automotive Classics Car Show in Vail Village, 9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Spectators may peruse vintage, classics and custom cars throughout Vail Village and includes a People’s Choice Award Ceremony at 1:30 p.m.
