The Metropolitan announced today that it will hold a series of Wine & Tapas Socials this summer in Beaver Creek Resort. The first will be held Thursday, July 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with several tapas and hand-selected wines by The Seeker, not found on the restaurant’s regular menu, to be served to approximately 60 people. “We are very proud of the talent that Executive Chef Mike Bickelhaupt brings to The Met,” said the Met Owner John Shipp. “This type of event showcases the depth and range of experience of our chefs. Manager Darryl Slate has selected The Seeker wines to compliment these special dishes to help create an event that is purely social for our guests.”
The menu for the evening’s event includes Grilled Watermelon wrapped in Jamon Iberico, Fresh Figs with Lavander Cream, Colorado Lamb Ribs, and the Met’s infamous Lobster Tacos. These dishes will be presented with tasting of both red and white wines from The Seeker. The meal will finish with Lemon Sponge Cake with Berries and Whipped Cream paired with Cava, Spain’s traditional sparkling wine.
The Seeker relentlessly tracks down the world’s finest wines across time zones and continents. Their wines are made with care by talented wine making families, crafting flavorful, individual wines from selected grapes where they grow best.

Summer Events at The Metropolitan
Independence Day revelers are welcome to stop in as The Met celebrates the 4th of July with sparkling wines. The Met features Spain’s traditional sparkling wine, Cava, and Prosecco from Italy by the glass. Guests may also choose from a long list of bubbly choices from around the world by the bottle. The Met’s famous Lobster Tacos will be featured for the Independence Day celebration.
The Met is also a sponsor of the Beaver Creek Music Experience concert series at Strawberry Park at Beaver Creek Mountain. Electronic Tickets feature a coupon for a complimentary glass of house wine before or after each concert. Performers include Bleu Edmondson & White Water Ramble on Saturday, July 7, Chris Duarte on August 4, and Dr. John on September 8.
