Regional Breakthroughs/Australia, the producers of Elevate Vail/2012, the global symposium on creating and sustaining special places, have announced details of the extraordinary program for the gathering slated for September 25-27, 2012 at the Sebastian Hotel in Vail.

A remarkable faculty of international speakers and presenters have been assembled to encourage place makers from around the world to enjoy, be inspired by and act on the practical and philosophical discussions surrounding components of special places as the group defines them; connectivity to ancient and contemporary cultures, the built environment, the natural environment, economic sustainability, leadership and governance.

Constance Woodberry, chief executive of Regional Breakthroughs/Australia and Director of Elevate/Vail 2012 said, “The information exchanges and one-to-one opportunities provided by the collegial approach to the event will allow guests and faculty to create new definitions of how architecture, design, land planning, resource management, ecological sustainability, place heritage and development can work together to create lasting tributes to excellence in their own disciplines and for the lasting benefit of those who love and enjoy special places.”

Elevate/Vail 2012, the second in a series of international events, the first took place in Australia in 2011, features: Gayle Minnecon, Greg Eaton, Shane Nelson and Jamie Lovell representing various elements of Aboriginal Australian culture; Alex Iskendarian, COO of Vail Resorts Development Company and David Perry, VP Aspen Skiing Company, examining the role effective partners between mountain businesses and their respective communities; Tim Griffith, Architecture Photographer and well-know chronicler of major architectural project across the globe and Will Marcus, president of Argo Architects and Master Planners, who has directed design and construction of projects throughout the continents of Asia, Australia and Europe and many more insightful speakers.
