  • Vail Valley Partnership Presents Success Awards Check to Bright Future Foundation

The Vail Valley Partnership- the Chamber & Tourism Bureau presented a $7,500 check to the 2011 Non-Profit of the Year award winner, the Bright Future Foundation (BFF). The Bright Future Foundation was previously selected in December by the Success Awards Committee and was later honored at the recognition event in February. The local non-profit organization is Eagle County’s only abuse agency and strives to empower individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse to lead safe and productive lives.

At the Success Awards, attendees had an opportunity to bid on over 100 donated items during a silent auction. During an awards ceremony, the Bright Future Foundation, among other businesses and individuals received a commemorative plaque and was honored among members of the Vail business community. A portion of the night’s proceeds funded the check presented to the Bright Future Foundation.

“The Vail Valley Partnership is proud to award the Bright Future Foundation these funds in thanks to the generous donations of our business partners and the kindness of our community members and event attendees,” said Chris Romer, executive director of the Partnership.

The Bright Future Foundation provides valuable programs and resources to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or abuse throughout Eagle County. The team at BFF provides a 24/7 crisis hotline, free counseling services, legal advocacy, a safe house and vocational training. With the money raised, critical programs and resources will receive additional funding.

“All of these funds will directly serve adult and youth programs; our shelter costs, the Buddy Mentor program and our school anti-violence education. This is such an incredible gift and we are so grateful to the Partnership for the donation, but more importantly the awareness that this award has brought to what we do and who we are,” said Sheri Mintz, executive director of Bright Future Foundation.
