The Vail Valley Partnership- the Chamber & Tourism Bureau today announced seven award categories, including two new to the annual event. The respective categories for this year’s Success Awards are as follows; Non-Profit of the Year, Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Spirit of the Valley Award (formally Corporate Citizenship Award), Young Professional of the Year and New Business of the Year. A large portion of the event’s proceeds are donated to the Non-Profit of the Year winner.
New to this year’s Success Awards are the Young Professional of the Year and New Business of the Year award. The Young Professional of the Year award is open to applicants who are permanent residents under the age of 35 years old. Due to the fact that the Vail Valley attracts a large number of young entrepreneurs, the Partnership believes that this is a much-needed addition to the annual event. The New Business of the Year was also added to the ballot as well. As the official resource and advocate for businesses throughout the valley, the Partnership strongly believes that new member businesses should be recognized for their resolve and undertaking in a recuperating economic environment. Only businesses that have been open for 12 months or less may apply for this category.
Success Award nominations are due to the Partnership on November 18th at 5 p.m. The Success Award selection committee will meet to choose the finalists and Non-Profit of the Year award winner shortly after. The winners of the remaining categories will be announced at the 9th annual Success Awards on Friday, February 10, 2012.
