Keep your game face on
Wow. April. Hard to believe – seems to me that we just celebrated a joyous Christmas and New Years season. The calendar turning to April typically means that it’s time for spring fever and, sometimes, a lack of focus on customer service.
Please don’t fall into that trap this year.
Vail & Beaver Creek are hosting a few important programs the next few weeks. The Ski Tour Operators Association just wrapped up their annual meeting in Vail and Beaver Creek is hosting Mountain Travel Symposium this week. These two programs are signature mountain-travel industry events and bring tour operators as well as suppliers from around the globe to our valley – let’s show them why Vail & Beaver Creek are two of the very best ski resorts and let’s wow them with great service and a welcoming attitude.
Mountain Travel Symposium, hosted in Beaver Creek Resort from April 3-9, is the single largest and longest-running annual gathering of mountain travel professionals in North America. For more than 35 years representatives from mountain resort businesses have gathered at MTS each spring to establish relationships, initiate and complete contracts, and take the first steps toward making the upcoming season a success.
The MTS Forum is open to the Vail Valley community and will feature a two-day agenda of general sessions and workshops based on four strategic mandates for success in 2011 and beyond: markets, media, monetization, and measurement. The intensive sessions are geared to help you better anticipate sudden shifts in the environment, identify the risks, and spring on rapidly emerging opportunities. Workshops will provide specific tools to help you react and adapt to these changing economic conditions.
For a full line up of general session speakers and workshops, including Aron Ralston of the bestselling book, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and recent major motion picture, 127 Hours and Terry Jones, founder of Travelocity.com, creator and chairman of game-changing Kayak plus a panel discussion on “What Really Matters” featuring Vail Resort’s own John Garnsey, visit www.mtntrvl.com
Vail Valley Partnership members are eligible for a $100 savings on Forum attendance by using booking code: VVPMO. Simply register online at http://registration.mtntrvl.com/
And back to the customer service message……please don’t forget that Vail Mountain has extended operations through April 24.The late Easter holiday and long spring season could easily result in spring fever. Instead of spring fever, embrace the late holiday and the extra week of business – the guests that will be here are likely among our most loyal and best guests. Let’s make sure we treat them accordingly.
As always, I encourage all member businesses to get engaged with the Partnership and to contact us with any suggestions you may have to help us better serve you. Call us at (970) 476-1000 or stop by our offices in Avon at Traer Creek Plaza to share your feedback.
