The Vail Valley Partnership- the Chamber & Tourism Bureau today announced the Success Award winners in five respective categories; Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Green Business of the Year and the Corporate Citizenship Award.
During an evening of fine dining and entertainment, the winners, previously nominated by their peers in the business community and ultimately selected by the Success Awards Committee, were revealed.
In the category of Business of the Year, the award-winning Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa was selected, while Crazy Mountain Brewery, a recent addition to the Vail Valley, was chosen for the title of Small Business of the Year. Local founder, owner and chef, Kelly Liken of Restaurant Kelly Liken was awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year and Organic Housekeepers, a green cleaning company focused on environmental sustainability, won the award of Green Business of the Year. Finally, Vail Valley Medical Center received the Corporate Citizenship Award for its charitable work in the Vail Valley community in the area of health services.
Walking Mountains Science Center, formerly known as Gore Range Natural Science School, was previously selected and announced as this year’s recipient of the Non-Profit of the Year award. A portion of the proceeds from the silent auction went to the local non-profit organization.
During the event, the Partnership also honored local community member and business leader, Brian Nolan for his continued efforts and work within the Vail Valley business community.
“In addition to the Success Awards, the Partnership also recognized Brian Nolan for his extensive community service on various boards including the Beaver Creek Resort Company, Beaver Creek Merchants Association, Vail Valley Partnership, Eagle County Board of Education, Lionshead Merchant Association and the Vail Chamber & Business Association. He also serves on the Vail Economic Advisory Council, the Vail Valley Foundation Education Board as well as the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors,” said Chris Romer, executive director of the Partnership.
The event was a success in that it allowed community members the opportunity to give recognition to a diverse and deserving number of local businesses and organizations, both nominees, selected winners and honored guest, Brian Nolan.
“The Vail Valley Partnership is proud to recognize Success Award winners and the entire business community for all their hard work in making our community a special place. We are especially happy to have the opportunity to recognize Brian Nolan for his years of service to so many civic organizations,” said Romer.
