Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. MST.
Virtual Via Zoom
The ValleyOrtho Fracture Prevention Team is pleased to present “Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention,” a virtual discussion via Zoom on Wednesday, May 4. The presentation is part of Valley View University (VVU), a series of free educational webinars hosted by Valley View.
No one has time for a fracture, however people with weak bones are at a higher risk for a broken bone. Osteoporosis and osteopenia are often called the “silent diseases” because individuals cannot feel their bones getting weaker. They may not even know that they have weak bones until they break one. One in two women over the age of 50 will experience an osteoporotic fracture, as will one in five men over 50. Yet, nearly 80 percent of older Americans who suffer bone breaks are not tested or treated for osteoporosis.
In this 20-minute discussion, followed by an open Q&A, the ValleyOrtho Fracture Prevention Team, led by Sarah Davis, PA-C, MBA, will discuss the best ways that people can keep their bones strong and reduce risk of a fracture. Guest appearances include Susan Inscore, MD, a certified clinical densitometrist specializing in the treatment and diagnosis of Osteoporosis, and Dan Greene, PA-C.
