Description:
For the first time in history fundraisers and donors could span five generations. As a result, we are facing new challenges that negatively impact our ability to raise money. Studies show that one in three of us waste about five hours a week on inter-generational conflicts.
Ideas about work ethic, wardrobe and new communications technology are constantly being discussed to determine the best way to connect with donors. Understandably, conflicts can occur over what people feel or how they say it. Navigating these trials and capitalizing on each generations’ strengths will enhance your donor relationships resulting in raising more money. It will also help you get along better in the workplace.
In this fun, interactive session you will have the opportunity to learn and practice fundraising skills that spans the generations. You will leave with tips and techniques that you can use immediately to design your individual “generationally sensitive”, donor fundraising plan.
Learning Objectives:
- How our past, and our donors’ history, influences how they will react to our solicitation
- What motivates and demotivates each generation
- How differences will continue to affect fundraising in the future
- What you can do now to be “generationally sensitive” and raise more money faster
