Bright Future Foundation recently added Justin Folger to its Youth Violence Prevention team. Folger will implement BFF’s EmpowerMENt Program curriculum in local schools. EmpowerMENt encourages middle school aged boys to play an active leadership role in reducing gender violence, harassment, abuse, and bullying.  Folger also works with fellow Youth Violence Prevention Specialist Belle Hollandsworth on the popular Buddy Mentors Program.  Based on the national Big Brother/Big Sister model of mentorship, Buddy Mentors strives to inspire and foster youth through building consistent and trusting relationships.

“Bright Future Foundation is singular in its role and scope in Eagle County,” said Folger.  “I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to champion and implement programs that can have a lasting effect on the lives of young adults and the community in general.”

A Minnesota native, Folger came to Bright Future after working in the Beaver Creek and Vail Children’s Ski School and his post-graduate work in Boulder. He currently holds a Master in International and Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver. During the summer, Folger is also a volunteer cycling coach with the Cycle Effect, a local non-profit devoted to empowering young women through mountain biking to achieve brighter futures and build stronger communities.
