Lisa Mattis will be the permanent CEO
Avon, Colo. (May 27, 2016) – Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a national nonprofit that transforms lives by delivering programs that instill exercise, nutrition, symptom management, and mental motivation as core life components for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their support partners, announced today that Interim Chief Executive Officer Lisa Mattis has been appointed as the organization’s permanent CEO.
Mattis is a seasoned nonprofit executive with 25 years of experience in strategic planning, board and staff development and organizational alignment.
“It is an honor to lead Can Do MS,” said Mattis. “People with MS and their support partners experience an improved quality of life as a result of our programs. I look forward to developing strategic partnerships to increase the impact of Can Do MS programs across the country.”
Based in Denver, CO, Mattis recently led interim executive leadership roles at the Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges, World Class Accessibility Foundation, and The Joshua School. Her expertise in executive leadership and dedication to the Can Do MS mission are among the reasons why the board of directors chose Mattis to be the organization’s permanent CEO.
Mattis is no stranger to the Vail Valley. She serves on the board for Colorado Fourteeners Initiative and is a certified Vail ski instructor. In her free time, she enjoys tackling the peaks of the Rockies on her skis and road bike.
