“Laura has such a unique background and training, that she is already bringing her vision, talents and drive to the team,” Andrea Georgopolis, senior designer at Slifer Designs, said. “We have been taking on new projects from Michigan to Telluride, Florida, and of course, Vail – working with Laura means we are able to continue to train new employees in the Slifer Designs’ model.”

Laura has a unique background: an undergraduate degree in Accounting and an MFA in Interior Architecture and Design from The George Washington University, which allows her to balance the logical and creative needs of design.

Embarking on a career in interior design was no accident – Laura discovered her passion for interior design, the value of home as sanctuary and the importance of blending form with function while working with Homes for Our Troops to build handicap-accessible homes for disabled veterans.

“I am so excited to be part of Slifer Designs,” Laura said. “I have loved watching where the team has traveled, seeing the iconic and transformative designs, unique for each client. I can’t wait to jump in, learn, contribute and be part of this amazing design firm.”

Originally from Maryland, Laura and her husband had an initial taste of all that Vail has to offer in 2009 when they participated in the Vail Veterans Program. Now that she is a full-time resident, she’s already embraced the lifestyle of the Vail Valley.
