Valley View, an independent, nonprofit health system based in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, offering the most comprehensive care in the Valley, is pleased to welcome board-certified Radiation Oncologist Lauren Kropp, MD to the Calaway • Young Cancer Center, part of the Valley View family.

When planning radiation treatments, Dr. Kropp strives to focus on utilizing advanced technologies while developing individualized treatment plans in order to reduce the side effects of treatment.

As a leading cancer treatment facility in the region, Calaway • Young Cancer Center is home to a nationally-renowned, highly-skilled, innovative and respected team of providers with board certifications for the most advanced technologies and cancer treatment options in the country.

Dr. Kropp earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as chief resident in her final year of training.

She also received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida. Having grown up in DeLand, Florida, she developed an early interest in animal husbandry in agriculture.

“I’m honored to join the Calaway • Young Cancer Center, and to use the center’s advanced technologies to provide patients with the best possible care,” said Dr. Kropp. “I always knew I would have a career in medicine, and my animal science background and love of animals have provided me with a wonderful way to connect with patients.”

She is a member of Radiating Hope, a nonprofit organization that strives to improve radiation oncology care internationally. With the organization, Dr. Kropp has traveled to Nepal and Chile on advocacy trips, supporting those nations’ radiation oncology practices.
