  • Take the Eagle County Economic Resiliency Survey to help guide workforce planning and business support initiatives

Eagle County Business Owners, Entrepreneurs & Community Members we are asking for your feedback! We have launched a new Eagle County Economic Resiliency Survey to help guide workforce planning and business support initiatives. Your feedback is critical to this work and the survey will capture data from business owners, workforce and community members alike.

The survey link is now open. Please plan to complete it in one sitting within the next two weeks. It should take 10-20 minutes depending on the depth of your answers. You can also help us to collect the most complete community representation possible by sharing this with other local business owners and fellow employees.

Why is this necessary?

This survey is being conducted to support business and community continuity planning. It is conducted by the Eagle County Resiliency Roadmap team, a group of local government and business leaders. Our goal is to better understand the stability of our various business sectors to guide where we focus economic resiliency efforts. The final roadmap report will outline community preparedness needs and potential economic disruptors.

Don’t we have this data already?

We regularly face challenges with a lack of publicly-available business data and how to apply statewide trends to our local resort economy. This survey is unique in that it includes questions about future plans for business owners and workers. Surveys indicate as many as 70% of Colorado business owners plan to retire or sell their businesses in the next 10 years. We have an aging workforce and declining birth rates. And, more and more retirees desire to age in place and have the means to do so. These are just a few population trends already impacting Eagle County, and we need better data to forecast what will continue to happen locally. We aim to better understand which business sectors and community services are lacking and at risk based on population changes, workforce challenges, natural disasters, and more.
