  • Story of the Month: Adjusters International/MBC Steps In to Help Vail Valley Locals from Bad Insurance Claim Practices

Have you ever been frustrated trying to understanding insurance claims? Well you aren’t the only one. In 1985 Scott deLuise suffered a fire at his fraternity house in Boulder and couldn’t figure out how to handle the insurance claim. Just a few years later after Adjusters International/MBC (AI-MBC) was founded to assist policyholders in preparing, filing and adjusting their insurance claims.

The issue is that insurance companies often delay and deny valid claims and your average person isn’t even aware it is happening. Policy holders assume their carrier has their best interest in mind and that they will do the right thing and pay out the claim appropriately but hostile insurance carriers are trying to save money for their shareholders. The shock of the inevitable delays and underpayments can be troublesome and leaving the policy holder in limbo on what recourse they might have. That is where AI-MBC steps in and negotiates the claim fairly based on fair market conditions. In the Vail Valley that is huge because most carriers and adjusters don’t know the current building climate in the Valley and don’t understand the price point the Valley requires. With a former Vail GC on staff as our Lead Adjuster we understand the pitfalls the policy holder is up against in educating the carrier and adjuster accordingly.

Today, AI-MBC is a family owned business who’s sole purpose is to help protect insurance consumers from bad insurance claims practices. AI-MBC Won Denver Business Journal Best Small Family Business award in 2018 because of their mission and cohesion. Their goal is to help everyone with an insurance claim get what they are entitled to. AI-MBC are responsible to their clients, working for their best interests, not vendors like insurance companies.  But AI-MBC needs to get the word out in the Vail Valley that there are other options available to the policy holder besides settling for what the carrier offers or going to litigation over a dispute. They are licensed, bonded, and insured to act as fiduciaries for the policy holder. They truly step into their client’s shoes and negotiate the proper settlement without cutting any corners and paying heavy fees to an attorney who is not a construction or policy expert and who will charge 3x what they charge for the same service with usually much better results.

AI-MBC is the largest, most respected Public Adjusting company in Colorado and the US. They also have a FEMA consulting group based in DC that handled over 25,000 Puerto Rico claims after hurricane Maria. They are also unique in Colorado as we have the only Executive Adjuster who lived, worked, and raised a family in the Vail Valley. Michael Stoycheff understands the Valley construction climate and is personal friends with many people who own companies that will be assisting in the recovery like general contractors, restoration contractors, property managers, art restoration contractors and moving companies.

AI-MBC sponsors and supports many first responder organizations and hold fund raising events for affected policyholders. They are the lead sponsor and fundraiser for the Troublesomefest in Grand Lake as a result of the  local fires of 2020.  AI-MBC is also part of many associations that can benefit from our CE (Continuing Education) programs within the Division of Insurance and the Division of Realtors.
