The Vail Valley Charitable Fund (VVCF) was created in 1996 to assist individuals living and working in the Vail Valley who are experiencing financial hardship due to a medical crisis or long-term illness. They distribute one-time grants up to $5,000 and coordinate extended grant fundraisers for applicants requiring additional assistance. Since its inception, VVCF has distributed 8.4 million dollars to over 1,800 local families. For details about how to donate or apply for a grant, go to vvcf.org.
In response to overwhelming oral health needs, the Eagle County Smiles Program (ECS) was established in 2006 and helps children until age 18 by assigning them a dental provider to achieve treatment, preventative care, and education about healthy dental habits. ECS has cared for 800 children since its inception and distributed over $600,000 through the program. Based on the success of the ECS kids program and overwhelming adult needs, ECG was born. Eagle County Grins (ECG) will provide uninsured adults ages 18+ up to $1,500 for treatment. ECG will treat, educate, and guide those Medicaid/CHP+ eligible to receive adult benefits already in place with the state. Click HERE for additional details and to cast your vote. “Either personally or with loved ones, each one of us been touched in some way by unforeseen health challenges. The Vail Valley Charitable Fund has served our community for 25 years with a mission to help with financial burdens because of a long-term illness or medical crisis. Our dental programs have helped school children be treated for decay and establish healthy dental routines. Our new adult dental program will expand that care to applicants of all ages because we know how vital whole-body health and wellness are to a community. It’s a pleasure to serve the Vail Valley with these programs. The State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program would go a long way to help us serve our neighbors. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity.” ~ Terri Hanley Reichert, VVCF
