It all started with a closet “office” and an Apple Macintosh desktop computer.
Twenty-five years later, Avid Design CEO, Brad Farans, looks back on the company’s evolution into a full-service firm, currently providing businesses and organizations of all sizes and backgrounds with web, design and marketing services.
“Avid has evolved as much as this valley in the past couple of decades,” said Farans. “It’s been a wildly fun ride and we’re excited for the journey ahead.”
Avid’s roots are in website design and development, producing the very first “digital face” for more than a handful of Vail Valley businesses when the Internet revolution took hold in the late ‘90s. This team is, in fact, so rooted in the Valley’s history and culture, they had a hand in building one of the community’s long-standing celebrations, Taste of Vail, from a beloved local event into a globally recognized affair and have put their skills to work for other iconic Vail brands like The Golden Bear, Garfinkel’s and Solaris.
After recognizing the rapidly evolving need for services that support a website past its launch, Farans started building a team of professionals to round out the boutique agency’s capabilities.
“Adding design and marketing services to our list was a natural next step,” said Farans. “They supplemented our client websites by not only enhancing their visibility, but also provided our team with a more long-lasting and personal relationship with these clients.”
No quarter century crisis here. In lieu of a candy apple red convertible, Avid opted for a brand new website and a community-focused gift card giveaway with a surprise or two in mind for later this year.
“Thanks to the clients who’ve worked with us for the past 25 years, I’d say we’ve aged like fine bourbon!”
