  • Town of Vail extends due date for sales tax collection; Vail Transit suspends operations March 18

Dear Town of Vail Business Owners,

To support local businesses during an unprecedented slow-down in the economy, the Town Council has elected to extend payment due dates for sales tax returns for businesses with a physical location in Vail. Beginning immediately with February 2020 sales tax collections due by March 20th, due dates for payment have been extended at least 30 days to April 20th. Town Council may further extend this date in the future.

The returns must still be filed by their regular due date of the 20th but need not be accompanied by a payment of the tax. We hope that this effort will aid small business cash flow during this critical time. Your businesses are what make Vail a great place.

This extension will be for at least 30 days. We will send additional messages when the specific due date is decided.

This extension applies only to the Town of Vail 4% sales tax.

IMPORTANT – Your online sales tax returns will continue to show the original due date, however no penalties or interest will be added so long as they are paid by the future date to be announced. You will also continue to receive automatic email reminders from support@munirevs.com until the tax return is paid. We highly encourage all businesses to pay sales tax on time as finances allow.
