Vail, Colo. – The Vail Board of Realtors Foundation has announced the recipients of its inaugural scholarship. Five scholars were awarded $2,000 each to attend a college, university or accredited academic institution of higher learning.

The honorees include students applying to or returning to college.  Emma Lathrop is attending the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Alix Thurston and Elizabeth Constien are enrolled at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Nathaniel Badger studies at Bates College in Maine, and Connor Wilson attends the University of California at Berkeley.

“It is a very kind and generous program from the VBRF,” said Wilson. “I am happy to have participated in the scholarship. I greatly appreciate the support for my studies.”

“Our Scholarship Selection Committee received a number of worthy applications,” said Vail Board of REALTORS Association Executive Erica Kirk. “We appreciate the committee’s work in selecting recipients. We’re also grateful for the supporters of the VBR Foundation for funding this program.”

The Vail Board of Realtors Foundation was established in 1996 to help promote community efforts for the Vail Board of Realtors. Today their mission statement is: To assist the community and association members with need based financial assistance, not-for-profit support, education and disaster relief.
