(EDWARDS, Colorado – May 1, 2018) – The 15th Annual Success Awards is fast approaching and this year’s nominees, finalists and winners will be recognized for their hard work and accomplishments in 2017. Vail Valley Partnership’s Annual Success Awards spotlights the business community and acknowledges those who went above and beyond in the previous year. The energy has picked up, as well as the anticipation for this year’s 2018 Success Awards on May 11, 2018 at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch.

“At last year’s Success Awards, there was a strong sense of pride, humility and even humor,” says Ben Dodd, content marketing manager for Vail Valley Partnership. “We all work very hard at our places of work. This event brings elevated levels of energy and joy when you get to witness everyone coming together in one place to celebrate our achievements as a business community.”

So, how are the finalists and winners selected, why are more people anticipating this year’s awards than just the finalists, and what responsibilities do the winners acquire? One responsibility of passing the torch as the previous year’s winner is to participate in the selection committee to vote for the new finalists and winners. Though the 2018 finalists have already been announced, not even the selection committee will find out who the winners are until the day of the Success Awards.

It is always exciting to hear the new winners who will carry the torch; however, a new element was added to the ceremony last year. The previous year’s winners are asked to perform and film comical videos that introduce the new winners. This year, everyone came prepared with their scripts. The stakes are high after the 2017 videos.

This year, some of the videos will be remakes of infamous SNL skits. Other businesses and nonprofits, including Eagle County Schools (last year’s winner of Business of the Year), prepared their own spin off old-school music videos, television shows, and some even scripted entirely fresh and new skits.

Each video will be entertaining to watch because the Success Award attendees will see the previous year’s winners–comprised of the local business community that many of us know–act out and get into characters that are just plain goofy!

The 15th Annual Success Awards will be held on Friday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. There are a few seats left and tickets are available for purchase at vailvalleypartnership.com/event/15th-annual-success-awards/. Tickets cost $85 for VVP members and $95 for the public.

If you cannot make it to the awards ceremony, then you are still in luck. The videos will be uploaded onto VailValleyPartnership.com/events/annual-success-awards/ and Eagle County Government Television is going to be recording the entire event.
