The 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang is scheduled for Feb 9, 2018 – Feb 25, 2018, and Eagle County has 6 home-grown and/or trained athletes competing for Team USA. There also several other Olympic athletes from, or who trained in, the Vail Valley. 

Growing up in Eagle County has it perks, and one of them is the proximity to several world-class ski programs and terrain. In this year’s olympics, Team USA is bringing with them six of Eagle County’s determined riders and skiers!

*Home-grown and/or trained in Eagle County, but representing other countries are the following:
Chris Del Bosco – Canada / Freestyle Skiing
Charles Flaherty – Puerto Rico / Alpine Skiing
Sarah Schleper de Maxilla – Mexico / Alpine Skiing
Rakai Tait – New Zealand / Snowboarding
Mike Testwuide – South Korea / Hockey

**There are also 5 Birds of Prey (ski course) winch cat operators building the courses there, Toby Dawson (Vail grown bronze medal Olympian) coaching South Korea ski team, Zach Henry from Eagle is running A-Net on the alpine ski course (GS and Slalom), Allen Dunaj from Edwards working with the camera crew, and Jared from Dobson ice arena is making ice for the Olympics, too!
