  • The Inn at Riverwalk Undergoes $3 Million Renovation to Offer Guests a Boutique Hospitality Experience in the Vail Valley

The Inn at Riverwalk in Edwards, Colo. is undergoing a major multi-million dollar renovation. The entire boutique hotel will now offer guests simple luxuries, a warm personality, and a fresh approach to hospitality.

The Inn at Riverwalk is undergoing a $3 million renovation.

EDWARDS, Colo., September 1, 2017The Inn at Riverwalk had its grand opening 20 years ago, when local owners Kathy and Sandy Treat saw a future for a locally owned hotel in the burgeoning Riverwalk in Edwards. Since then, the Riverwalk has transformed into a mixed-use community consisting of restaurants, retail shops, a movie theatre, offices and residential condominiums. Today, this vision continues to grow. The Edwards independently owned, boutique hotel will undergo a major renovation, partially closing mid-September and reopening in December 2017. During the renovation, the suites will remain open and will be unaffected by the renovation as they are located in the 1st and Main Street building next door.

The $3 million remodel is spearheaded by a local team. Key members include The Inn at Riverwalk General Manager Matt Tabor, asset manager John Evans, owner of Evans Hospitality, the marketing professionals at Hill Aevium, interior designers at Associates 3, architects at Zehren & Associates, and contractor Evans Chaffee Construction.

“The local involvement of this project is incredibly important to us,” The Inn at Riverwalk owner Kathy Treat said. “We’re making big changes with the support of an amazing team. Their understanding of this community and our customers is critical.”

The entire hotel is undergoing a facelift. Upon entering, a new pod-type reception will redefine the guest experience, leading to a cozy and comfortable lobby – a gathering place for relaxation, work and play. New additions will include a deluxe coffee bar, Gear Garage – where guests can borrow outdoor equipment such as bikes and snowshoes to explore the area – and a water bottle-filling station.

The elevators, corridors, and guest rooms will all be updated. There are 14 king and 46 double queen bedrooms, which are designed to be “mountain modern.” Changes include new color schemes, flooring, ceilings, bathrooms, and amenities, such as updated 46” flat screen televisions. The hotel will remain pet-friendly and will also have brand-new ADA accessible rooms. All previous furnishings are being donated to Vail Valley’s Habitat for Humanity.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and all-new Technogym equipment will transform the fitness room, and the pool will be completely resurfaced and landscaped. Additionally, the pool area will also have new outdoor lounge chairs, tables and chairs, and fire pits with Adirondack-style seating. It will continue to be open year-round, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Two on-site restaurants will remain available – local favorites Woody’s and Zino Ristorante. À la carte breakfast options will be offered by Woody’s starting this winter for The Inn guests and the local community.

Upon completion, The Inn at Riverwalk will be affiliated with the Ascend Collection by Choice Hotels, affirming its status as a one-of-a-kind, upscale property. The hotel will reopen in December, ready for guests to enjoy the holidays and winter sports.
