Public invited to next Vail Valley workforce housing coalition meeting on May 24

Workforce Housing Coalition Participants,

Thank you for your interest and commitment to the issue of workforce housing in the Vail Valley.  We at the Vail Valley Partnership have a plan for our third meeting that I am excited to share with you.

As a quick recap, the first meeting (3/2) was introductory and gave us direction as to where we should go next.  Our next meeting (4/13) was a deep dive into Public/Private partnerships.  This upcoming meeting (5/24) was designed to be a look into the psychology of Workforce Housing.  Jill Klosterman from Eagle County Housing recommended the article below.

We felt strongly that this article aligned with our issues after reading it.  In a fortuitous turn of events the author of this article, Dr. Tiffany Manuel is the keynote speaker at the annual NAHRO conference to be held in Vail during our prospective time frame.  Information about Dr. Manuel is below.

We contacted the conference and they have agreed to welcome our WHC participants to this opening lecture on Wednesday May 24th from 8:30-10 at the Vail Marriott.  There will be no cost to anyone who wishes to attend as the VVP is covering all costs.

Information regarding the conference:

They have asked us to register in advance for logistical purposes.  Those registrations will be coming through Erik Williams erik@visitvailvalley.com at the VVP.  Simply send an email that states you wish to attend and that’s it!  The FINAL deadline for the registrations will be Friday, May 12th.

Please consider attending.  ANY questions, let me know.  Thank you.
