Vail Mountain to Offer Sightseeing, Forest Flyer and First-time Children’s Lessons on Wednesday, Nov. 23

VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 22, 2016 – From Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 27, Vail Mountain will offer scenic gondola rides, on-mountain dining, the Forest Flyer alpine coaster, guided snowshoe or hiking tours, a children’s activity day camp, and an introduction to skiing and snowboarding for children, ages 3 to 14, out of Lionshead Village. The Eagle Bahn Gondola will operate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sightseeing, as well as dining at Eagle’s Nest.

At 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, Vail will open for the 2016-2017 season with terrain on Born Free trail for intermediate skiing and snowboarding accessed via Born Free Express (#8) out of Lionshead Village. Breakfast burritos from Vail Mountain and hot cocoa will be provided for early risers, as supplies last.

On-Mountain Dining
The Marketplace at Eagle’s Nest and the Bistro Fourteen bar will open for the season for daily operations on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Vail Ski & Snowboard School

The Lionshead Ski and Snowboard School will open on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and offer first-time children’s lessons for ages 3 to 14 in Lionshead on the base-area carpet. A non-skiing activity camp will also be offered for children ages 3 to 14 and will include a scenic gondola ride, the Forest Flyer alpine coaster, lunch on-mountain, village activities and more.

The Small World Nursery at the Golden Peak Children’s Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted. For the best price guaranteed, guests are encouraged to book in advance online at www.vail.com.

Vail Mountain Nordic School
The Vail Mountain Nordic School opens Friday, Nov. 23 and will offer free guided hiking or snowshoe tours through Sunday, Nov. 27, conditions permitting, at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola for sightseeing guests ages 14 and older. The tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and meet at the Ski and Snowboard School desk in the Pavilion at Eagle’s Nest.

Skiers and snowboarders are reminded to observe all posted signs and closures, especially during the early season. The Golden Peak base area and the Riva Bahn Express Lift (#6) are a designated race training area only and will open to the public at a later date.
